If you are a New Zealand Pilot you are required to undergo a review of your flying at least every two years. This review must be carried out by either an A or B Category Flight Instructor.
The review gives you a refresher course in helicopter handling as well as bringing you up to date with any law changes since your last review.
A CPL(H) is required if you want to work and be paid as a pilot in the aviation industry. Embarking on an aviation career is something not to be taken lightly and you will need to consider all the elements when making the decision.

Do you have what it takes to be a true professional pilot?
A PPL(H) is your starting point when entering the aviation industry after you have completed a ‘Trial Flight’. If you are wanting to use a helicopter for personal use only then this is the license for you. You cannot receive any compensation for flying on a PPL(H). Pilots with current fixed-wing licenses can receive credits towards their PPL(H) Private Helicopter License.
